Have you been saying this month’s affirmation every day? Have you noticed any changes in your circle, or the energy of the people who are drawn to you? If you have, that’s fantastic. If you haven’t, that’s okay too. It doesn’t mean you’ve done anything wrong. This is a journey and there are different benchmarks for each of us as we move forward together.
August’s color is silver. The most commonly used association for silver in the craft is to represent the moon and in nearly every tradition, the moon is the embodiment of the divine feminine. Silver and the moon are both common themes with mirrors, and where do we see our true reflection? If you’ve been doing your affirmations in the mirror, then you’ve already been working with silver this month.
August’s flower is lavender. Most everyone knows that lavender is a common curative for stress. There are all kinds of items that are lavender infused, like microwavable neck rolls, and eye masks. But how does lavender help us stand in our truth? Just as it takes courage, it can also be stressful. It can be frightening. It’s okay to seek aid for that, too. If you enjoy the scent of lavender, it’s great to use as an essential oil to rub on your wrists or behind your ears. To put a few drops on your pillow case.
For those of us who don’t care for the scent of lavender, it makes a delightful lemonade. With a lavender lemonade, it’s a pretty, summery drink, and it doesn’t have any of the perfume that some don’t care for. It’s as easy as dropping a tiny lavender clipping in your lemonade as garnish.
By now, you should have noticed that there is magic is everything around us. In every living thing. Every natural thing. The earth beneath our feet, the blades of grass between our toes, the air that we breathe, the sky, the sea, and even the clothes and adornments we choose to put on our bodies.
The craft is mystical, but it is not secret. These paths are available to all who choose them. And so is living in your truth. All you have to do, is do it.
